Small Black Stoneware Teapot
Drawing inspiration from the tradition of Yixing teapots, this piece is my own contemporary interpretation, balancing sculptural form with the quiet practicality of everyday use.
Each teapot is made in my studio from black iron clay and finished entirely by hand. The exterior is left unglazed, allowing the natural texture and warmth of the clay to remain present, while the interior is finished with a black glaze for durability and ease of use.
Its compact size makes it especially well suited for loose-leaf teas prepared over multiple infusions, including oolongs, white teas, black teas, and sheng puerh. Designed to be used often, it is equally at home during a quiet morning alone or shared across the table with a friend.
Because every teapot is made individually, subtle variations in form and surface are a natural part of the making process. I hope it becomes an object you'll reach for often and enjoy for many years to come.
